It Was On The News...

As my wife and I watched the news tonight, we were shocked to see a story being run on atheism. They showed a statistic that the percentage of people claiming a religion is dropping in Utah and in the state. They are suing the state for having fallen troopers names placed on a cross around the state because it is a religious symbol on government property. I wonder what the public would say if they were asked.

This only leads me to think that tougher times are coming as the Lord is less and less apart of the lives of His children. We have been reading the Book of Mormon as a family of the cycle of righteousness and evil. How the people would be blessed, prosper, and then decide they didn't need the Lord anymore as they were well taken care of, only to find that they were on the way back to the bottom. How often do we do that in our own lives? We have a struggle, turn to the Lord, and then once we are "okay" again, we "forget" to include the Lord in our daily lives.

I believe that atheists have the right to "not believe" (which I feel is an excuse to avoid the spirit and the part it could play in their lives), but why do groups push their ideas on others? Many will say that the LDS church does this. WRONG! You have every right to say, "No thank you". No one is forced, ever, in any decision. We have to allow things to happen. I hope you will allow the Lord to be a part of your life.

Keep the Faith...

I would have to agree with you John. Whenever I read the book of mormon I feel the same way.
